Basically, one was a bit luckier then the other, with the underlying theme being that no matter how sound the company is, there is risk inherent in any concentrated investment .

The point here is this… that you have to diversify your holdings, so no one investment can put you in the poor house. Well the same applies for your approach to No Limit Texas Holdem…it's nice to have it in your portfolio but make sure it's not the only bullet in your gun.

In its purest form, the No Limit Texas Holdem cash game, is like putting your money in one stock, it can be dangerous and your capital may fluctuate wildly. So like a smart investor diversify your size and style of game. By all means, play No Limit Texas Holdem but make sure to diversify the format between cash games, single table and multi table tournaments

Teach yourself to play pot limit holdem and fixed limit Texas Holdem. Maybe you're a better tournament player then cash games player. A good friend of mine, who is an excellent player, predominantly plays NL single table events and Pot limit cash games, this mix works for him.
